Hello All,
It’s been a bit of a sporadic week, which initially kicked off with Trump issuing a delay of the 50% tariffs on the EU that were originally set to be implemented on June 1st. Both the Trump administration and the EU came to terms and agreed to push the date back to July 9th to allow time for a potential deal to be worked out.
Following the headline, indices gapped higher earlier in the week, and since then, it’s been a relatively lighter week in terms of economic data and headlines. However, yesterday we did get news of a Federal court attempting to block Trump’s policy, which has since been appealed.
The Q’s have been the best-performing of the indices this week, currently up 206bps, whereas the Dow has been the relative laggard, though it still sits higher by 145bps on the week.
